Dr. Andrea is a graduate of the University of MN College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Andrea also completed a rigorous one year post doctorate internship in Small Animal Medicine at the U of M. Her special interests include internal medicine, emergency medicine and dentistry. She enjoys working with clients to help them understand how preventive care can set their pet up for success and optimal life expectancy. Dr. Andrea and her husband both grew up in the Minnetonka area and are both graduates of Hopkins High School. Dr. Andrea and her husband have three daughters, Avery, Quinn, and Shea. Her interests include running, reading, spending time with family and pets, and cross country skiing.
Dr. Rob spent most of his childhood in Savage, MN and graduated from Burnsville High School. He completed his undergraduate training at the University of Wisconsin Madison and graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Rob worked in a small animal practice in South Bend, IN, following graduation and joined the GAH team as an Associate Veterinarian in 2013. Dr. Rob and Dr. Andrea became co-owners of GAH in 2017. His professional interests include dentistry, surgery, dermatology and internal medicine. Dr. Rob is passionate about preventive care and wellness care for pets and helping pets enjoy long, healthy lives. Dr. Rob and his wife live in Minnetonka with their children Elizabeth and James, dog Annie, and keep their horse Emma in Independence. Dr. Rob enjoys volunteering with organizations such as Safe Hands Animal Rescue and Big Brothers and Big Sisters. He also sits on the board of the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Ian graduated from Kenyon College with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. He went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine and then completed a rotating small animal surgery and medicine internship at VCA Alameda East in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Ian is a Minnesotan through and through and was happy to return to his hometown of Minneapolis after his internship. He is thrilled to be part of the staff at Gehrman Animal Hospital and looks forward to building meaningful relationships with clients and their beloved pets. Dr. Ian holds a special interest in internal medicine/metabolic diseases, though he truly enjoys all aspects of general practice. In his spare time, he enjoys recreational sports, from golf to ice curling. He is a huge Minnesota Vikings fan and is patiently awaiting their first Super Bowl win. He and his wife Ashley have two loving and goofy pets, a pit bull named Toast and a cat named Nayah.
Dr. Katie grew up in central Wisconsin. She completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin River Falls and graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to joining Gehrman Animal Hospital in November of 2020, she worked at small animal practices in Roseville and Minneapolis. Dr. Katie’s professional interests include preventative care, internal medicine, general surgery, and client education. She really loves the variety that general practice offers. Dr. Katie also volunteers with The Street Dog Coalition as co-Team Lead Veterinarian, Red Lake Rosie’s Rescue to offer veterinary care during their wellness clinics and is on the board of directors for Pet Haven animal rescue. In her free time, Dr. Katie enjoys finding new restaurants, eating baked goods, imbibing good beer, rowing with Minneapolis Rowing Club, and tending to her flower garden. Katie and her wife, Colby, share their home with their two dogs, Goose and Marta, and their four opinionated cats Ed, Louise, Chad, and Marlow.
Dr. Jena grew up in Willmar, MN and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from North Dakota State University. She graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine and worked as a veterinarian in the South Metro area prior to joining Gehrman Animal Hospital in September 2019. Dr. Jena has special interests in dentistry, dermatology, and behavior, although she loves the variety that comes with general practice. She is passionate about the human-animal bond, and has an appreciation for building relationships with pet owners and their furry family members. Jena shares her home with her wonderful husband, an energetic and silly husky mix (Cliff), and an opinionated medium-haired cat (The Müf, short for Mufasa). When she’s not at work, Jena enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, including running, hiking, kayaking, paddleboarding, cross-country skiing, and gardening.
Dr. Cam is originally from Ohio and graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2022. He is passionate about the intersection of medicine, science, and education, and prior to veterinary school he spent several years teaching high school students in the sciences and mathematics. Inspired by the day-to-day variety of being in the classroom, he chose to orient himself towards veterinary medicine to combine all the things he loved: deciphering the animal patient, leading in the community, teaching people of all ages, exploring the outdoors, contributing to quality medicine with client- and patient-centered care, and pursuing innovative scientific advances. Dr. Cam has a passion for client education, surgery, preventative care, and internal medicine. Dr. Cam enjoys time on the porch with a good read or some lively tunes with his fiancée, Katie, and pointer pup, Fitz. You can find them on or around the lake no matter the season – kayaking, fishing, running, biking, dock-diving, hammocking with an icy cold brew (coffee or beer or both!), sailing, snowshoeing, skiing; you name it!! Dr. Stefan grew up in Cologne, Germany. He studied in Berlin before moving to Minnesota in 1991. (His MN born wife played an important part in that decision).
He received his veterinary degree from the Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. Before joining Gehrman Animal Hospital he worked for small animal clinics in Long Lake and Roseville.
His main interests involve internal medicine, preventative care and client education. He is also one of two lead veterinarians for the MN chapter of ‘The Street Dog Coalition’, a volunteer organization that provides free veterinary care for the pets of individuals who experience homelessness. Dr. Stefan and his wife Heidi, live in South Minneapolis, have three red headed children, 2 dogs and grudgingly provide shelter for one of their son’s approximately 80 tarantulas. In his free time he loves riding motorcycles and enjoys soccer, reading, bicycling and brewery produced liquids. He can also provide your pets with a bilingual education.
Dr. Kyle spent his childhood moving along the east coast, beginning in Orlando, FL and ending in small town called Lovettsville, VA. He moved to Minneapolis in 2016 and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from the University of Minnesota. He then graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2025. Though not Minnesota-born, he feels that he’s become an honorary “Minnesotan” with his roots firmly planted.
Dr. Kyle loves all things general practice and the variety each day brings, though has a special interest in internal medicine and general surgery. He puts emphasis on client education and really values the role of owners in the collaborative effort to make the best decisions for their animal family members. He also has an interest in exotic animals and pocket pets and hopes to incorporate these species into his wheelhouse later in his veterinary career.
Kyle considers himself a homebody and loves a variety of activities around the house, including reading, crossword puzzles, crafts, D&D, and board games with family. He also loves discovering new local coffee shops around the cities to cozy up in – if you have any hidden gems, be sure to share them with him! At home, he has a single brain-celled orange cat named Banjo and a vicious crested gecko named Lemmy, both of whom keep him on his toes.

Rob Memmen
Bridget joined the Gehrman Animal Hospital team in October 2020. She is excited to be back in her home state of Minnesota, motivating and inspiring veterinary teams. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management, with an undergraduate degree in finance and a graduate degree in Healthcare Administration.
Bridget worked in human healthcare for many years before starting at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center and BluePearl Veterinary Partners. She spent several years in California working for veterinary specialty hospitals.
Her interests include golfing, camping, and enjoying time with her two grandchildren, Bennett and Nellie. In her free time, she loves spending time with her friends and family, as well as her Bernerdoodle, Letty Lou.
Bridget Monson
Dr Kramek is a board-certified veterinary surgeon. She is a graduate of Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She arrived at the University of Minnesota after completing veterinary school where she completed her advanced training in surgery as well as completing a Master’s degree and has been board-certified since 1985.
After working in private practice in both the Twin Cities and Chicago Dr. Kramek joined the faculty at the University of Minnesota and has become one of the most accomplished surgeons; in terms of both her clinical work as well as research, in the history of the University of Minnesota’s College of Veterinary Medicine
Dr Kramek is now splitting her time between the university and working with Minnesota Mobile Veterinary Surgery. She spends 3-4 days a month consulting on cases and performing surgeries at Gehrman Animal Hospital.

Betty Kramek
Dr. Olson is the founder of Veterinary Cardiology Specialists, established in 2010. She is one of the few board-certified veterinary cardiology specialists in the country and offers her services in Minnesota and Iowa.
Dr. Olson graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. She then completed a year-long rotating medicine and surgery internship at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine (1996-1997). She spent 1 year working in a general veterinary practice before settling into an internal medicine private referral practice in the Twin Cities (1998-2007). In 2007 she was selected to become a cardiology resident at University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed the three-year residency in 2010 at which point she launched her business, Veterinary Cardiology Specialists, PLLC.
Janet Olson
Dr. Hammel is the owner and operator of Veterinary Rehab & Conditioning Center (VRCC). After receiving her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Dr Hammel studied at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2008. After many years of small animal practice, she pursued advanced training in several additional therapies to complement conventional veterinary medicine.
Dr. Hammel is certified in canine rehabilitation by the Canine Rehabilitation Institute in Florida. In addition, she is certified in veterinary acupuncture by the Chi Institute of Chinese Veterinary Medicine.
Heidi Hammel
Suzy has worked at Gehrmans since 2009. She lives in Plymouth with her husband, 3 kids, her rottweiler Rue and cat named Kitten. She enjoys assisting in surgery and keeping the in house lab equipment running smoothly. Outside of work she keeps busy watching all her kids sporting events, baking, reading and being outside when it is warm.

Kathy has been a CVT since 1991 with most of those years spent at Gehrman Animal Hospital. She has really enjoyed getting to know the clients and meeting their furry family members.
She enjoys helping in surgery and has a special interest in dentistry. She has additional training in pet nutrition and weight management and is a certified weight coach. She would be happy to help any pets in need to develop a weight loss plan. Kathy lives in Maple Plain with her husband and 2 sons. She loves hanging out with them especially outside in the yard, by the campfire or in the boat.

Laura joined the Gehrman Animal Hospital team in January of 2019 with 30 years of CVT experience. Before coming to Gehrman’s, Laura spent time at several other general practice clinics as well as a specialty clinic! Laura enjoys the team-based atmosphere and the variety of general practice that Gehrman Animal Hospital has to offer. She currently resides in Long Lake with her husband, two daughters, and two spoiled cats.

Liz joined the GAH team in the summer of 2018. Previously she was living in Madison, Wisconsin where she worked at the humane society for over 3 years. Liz has a passion for rescue animals and owns two of her own – her cats Jazz and Sushi. Liz received her Bachelors in Zoology and Environmental Studies at UW-Madison. She then went on to do several internships and volunteer positions at zoos and wildlife centers before finding her passion in animal medicine and deciding to go back to school at Madison Area Technical College for her Veterinary Technician degree. She enjoys monitoring animals under anesthesia during surgery and taking radiographs. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend Jake, visiting her family in Waukesha, WI, doing puzzles and finding new restaurants.

Then she worked in shelter medicine where she discovered she wanted to pursue a vet tech degree, which she later obtained at Argosy University. She enjoys dentistry, geriatric pet care, and client education.
Megan currently resides in Minneapolis with her husband, son, two dogs, and cat. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, biking, playing board games, and spending time with friends and family.

Erica graduated from St. Olaf College with a degree in biology and worked with exotic animals at several zoos. She found she preferred veterinary medicine and went back to school to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. She enjoys the relationships built with owners and pets in general practice. She enjoys assisting with surgery, dentistry and anesthesia. Most rewarding to her is improving a pet’s quality of life whether through helping remove painful teeth or assisting with surgery. Outside of work she enjoys cooking, reading, going up north to the lake during the summer and dog agility. She currently has a dog named Roxy and a cat named Mist.

Emily graduated from University of Minnesota with a biology degree but she is originally from Illinois. She moved back to Illinois for a few years where she went back to school for veterinary technology and got her CVT license. Now because her boyfriend recently started practicing as an optometrist in MN, she moved with him to begin a new life together. They are still settling in but there will be some feline friends to add to their apartment. Her interests include anesthesia and client education. In her spare time, she is planning future trips to National Parks (including Voyageurs), cooking, and exploring her new hometown.

Emma has over 10 years of experience as a CVT, with the last 4 being at Gehrman Animal Hospital! She joined our team in September 2017 and was previously at a small clinic in Woodbury. Emma is especially passionate about surgery and anesthesia, but also enjoys performing lab work, and educating clients on different subjects as well. She lives in Chaska with her husband, 2 small children, and 2 cats. In her spare time, she enjoys being up north at the cabin, spending time with family and friends, and being outdoors.

Gabby has worked in veterinary medicine for nearly 10 years and has been at GAH for 4 of those years. Gabby graduated from the School of Environmental Studies at The Minnesota Zoo and received her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Eureka College.
An avid Steve Irwin fan, Gabby has loved animals her entire life and fate led her to veterinary medicine. Outside of work, you can find Gabby spending time outdoors with her son Bennett, her girlfriend Kelsie, and her pit bull, Pabst.

Brendon recently moved to the Twin Cities after graduating from Gustavus with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Spanish. He is now taking time to gain experience in the field and clinic before applying to vet schools in the area. Outside of work Brendon enjoys running, camping, cozying up with a good book, and snuggling with his kitty named Neffy.

Brittney
Jill is a Minnesota native who loves animals and likes to say she “grew up in the industry”. With a veterinarian for a mom, Jill has been surrounded by the vet world her whole life and loves being able to be a part of your pet’s health journey. Outside of the animal world, Jill loves traveling and music. You might even see her singing around the cities every so often! Also an avid book-lover and theatre-goer, she can usually find something creative to chat about. With four cats of her own, she loves the chaos of a busy house filled with the love of animals. Sandy joined the Gehrman team in July of 2020. Amanda B.
Carrie recently graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in biology. During her time there, she worked with both the lion lab and the apple breeding program. After conducting a summer research project in South Africa working with cheetahs, she decided that working with animals is her true passion. Carrie has two German shepherds at home, Kira and Otto, and two cats, Furry Murray and Harvey. Outside of work, Carrie enjoys spending time outside, running, and cooking. She ultimately hopes to go to vet school at the U of M.
